Adipotide (Fat-Targeted Proapoptotic Peptide, FTPP) is a chimeric bicyclic peptide consisting of a white adipose tissue (WAT) vasculature-homing sequence fused to a proapoptotic D(KLAKLAK)₂ sequence. Developed by Wadih Arap and Renata Pasqualini at MD Anderson Cancer Center, Adipotide homes specifically to prohibitin — a protein overexpressed on the surface of blood vessels feeding white adipose tissue — and then delivers a membrane-disrupting apoptotic signal, cutting off the blood supply to fat cells and triggering adipocyte death.
Reconstitution: Reconstitute with Bacteriostatic Water (BAC Water) for multi-use stability, or Sterile Water for single-use protocols. Store lyophilized vials at 2–8°C.
