Mechanism of Action
Methylcobalamin is the required cofactor for methionine synthase, which converts homocysteine to methionine and regenerates the folate cycle. This drives cellular methylation reactions — of DNA, proteins and neurotransmitters — via S-adenosylmethionine (SAMe), and helps regulate homocysteine. Its cobalamin cofactors also support fatty-acid and amino-acid metabolism feeding mitochondrial energy pathways.
