Adamax — Adamantane-Modified Semax Analog (Nootropic Research Peptide)
Adamax is a synthetic research peptide — an adamantane-modified, N-acetylated analog of Semax (Acetyl-Semax-Adamantane), with a molecular weight of approximately 1032 Da. Semax is itself a synthetic analog of the ACTH(4-10) fragment of adrenocorticotropic hormone; Adamax adds an N-terminal acetyl group and a lipophilic adamantane “cage” to the Semax backbone (Ac-Met-Glu-His-Phe-Pro-Gly-Pro core). Note: the “1032” seen in some listings refers to the molecular weight, not an official development code.
Mechanism of Action
Adamax’s mechanism is extrapolated from its well-studied parent Semax, as there are essentially no primary studies published under the Adamax name. Semax is documented to upregulate brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) and its TrkB receptor (and NGF) in the hippocampus, and to modulate dopamine, serotonin and norepinephrine systems. The N-acetyl and adamantyl modifications are intended to increase lipophilicity, metabolic stability and blood-brain-barrier penetration relative to native Semax, which clears within minutes.

Key Research Areas
🧠 Cognitive Research
Studied (via Semax read-across) for memory consolidation, learning and focus through BDNF/TrkB-driven long-term potentiation.
🧠 Neuroprotection
Investigated in ischemic/stroke and oxidative-stress models; Semax has established use in ischemic stroke research, the basis for these lines of study.
🧠 Mood & Stress Resilience
Explored for anxiolytic and mood effects via dopamine and serotonin modulation.
🧠 Neurodegeneration & TBI
Referenced in traumatic-brain-injury and neurodegenerative research models by extrapolation from Semax.
